Attunements

Reiki is taught somewhat differently to most other healing modalities, in that it also requires a series of attunements. These are given by a Reiki Master and involve the placing of certain Reiki symbols and energy into the aura of the recipient. This process opens the crown, heart and palm chakras and creates a permanent link between the student and the source of all energy. Such attunements empower people to use Reiki on themselves and others by facilitating the opening of the natural energy channels within the body. However they do not turn the student into a healer, they merely become a vessel for the Reiki energy to do its work through. Any healing is done by the universal life-force energy, it’s directed by universal intelligence and it knows where and what to heal. Once you’ve received your Reiki attunements, you’ll have the ability to channel Reiki for the rest of your life. This ability does not wear off and you can never lose it, even if you stop practicing Reiki.

While I teach Reiki to groups, out of respect for my students I do all attunements “one-on-one” in the sanctuary of my energetically pristine treatment room, which is a sacred space away from the group. I believe it’s very important that attunements be given the respect they deserve and that each individual enjoys the maximum benefit possible from this astonishing and life-changing experience.

The attunement process is a very beautiful and powerful spiritual experience. Many students report having mystical experiences involving seeing colours, receiving personal messages, having visions and sometimes even recalling past life experiences during their attunements. And afterwards nearly all students notice an increase in psychic sensitivity, intuitive awareness and other psychic abilities.
It’s wise to remember that we’re dealing with an energy that’s connected directly to creation, with an intelligence far beyond our comprehension.
